How we help public sector teams

Governments and public agencies come to us for training they must deliver and work they must get through. Pick the need that presses hardest, and we'll work within the software your offices already use.

Required training, with a record for every employee

A challenge you may be facing
Accessibility laws can require public bodies to train every employee and volunteer and to keep written records of who was trained and when. Cybersecurity rules can require every local government employee and official to complete certified training each year.
How we can help
We build courses from your policies, to WCAG AA, and SmarterU keeps each person's completions and certificates on record, with reports you can file or hand to a reviewer.
Stay compliant and audit-ready

What long-serving staff know, kept when they leave

A challenge you may be facing
Only 29% of state and local governments plan for or document how institutional knowledge is handed on, and many smaller municipalities lack the staff time for succession planning.
How we can help
A Knowledge Manager, a fractional learning and development expert from our team, maps what your experienced staff know, records them where a gap needs it, and turns it into reviewed material for training and answers.
Capture expertise and put answers in reach

Paperwork that moves, with a person approving it

A challenge you may be facing
Nearly half of state and local employees already use AI at work, most have had no AI training from their employer, and 28% say AI-generated content is rarely or never reviewed.
How we can help
Workflow Engineering builds intake, document handling and reporting steps into the systems you already use, and every output waits for a person to approve it. AI training covers when to trust, check or override what the tools produce.
Automate repetitive work with AI

Where to start

  • Track every certification in one place

SmarterU tracks each person's training and certifications to their expiry dates, and re-enrolls people before a certification lapses.

    About SmarterU
  • Bring a learning expert onto your team

A Knowledge Manager, a fractional learning and development expert from our team, starts with your question and tells you what to fix first.

    About Knowledge Manager
  • Automate one process your staff do by hand

Start with a free 90-minute call about that process. If you want to go ahead, an assessment then prices each automation.

FAQ

Is accessibility included?

Yes. Every course ships to WCAG AA, with contrast, captions, transcripts, keyboard navigation and screen reader support, and the review log comes with the delivery.

What can we hand an auditor or reviewer?

Each employee's training record from SmarterU: completions, quiz results, attendance and certificates, plus the audit log. Reports export to CSV or go by email to any address on a schedule.

Will automations send things out without us seeing them?

Only if you decide they should. We build every process to wait for a person's approval before anything goes to a client, a member or a board, and the judgment calls stay with your people. You can make a process fully hands-off, but only you make that call.

Can you train staff to check what AI produces?

Yes. Our AI training is built around the tools and policies your organization allows, and covers when to check an AI answer before acting on it and what must never go into a public tool.

Do you respond to RFPs?

Yes. We respond to requests for proposals for custom training.

Do you subcontract the work?

No. Our own in-house team designs, builds and tests every course, and nothing is subcontracted.

Do we have to replace the LMS we already use?

No. We deliver custom courses into the LMS you use, as SCORM, xAPI or cmi5, and you keep the source files. OttoLearn works on its own, alongside your LMS.

How can we help your public sector team?

Tell us what you're working on and we'll suggest where to start. We reply within three business hours.
