How we help contractors and engineering firms
Contractors and engineering firms come to us with problems on the site and in the office. Start with the one that costs you most, and keep the systems you already use.
Safety training on record for every crew
A challenge you may be facing
Fall protection training, one of the standards OSHA cites most often, requires a signed record of who trained each worker and when.
How we can help
Safety courses for every crew, with each worker's trainer, date and certificate on record and people re-enrolled before a certification lapses. OttoLearn keeps critical procedures fresh between courses in a minute or two a day.
Most of the workers contractors need in 2026 will replace people who retire, so the people with the longest site experience are the ones leaving.
How we can help
Interviews with your veterans, recorded around their schedules, become training and answers your crews can look up. JoySuite answers from that material and shows the source of each answer.
Programs we've built with some of the best teams in construction and engineering
This initiative was a huge success! Neovation’s quick turnaround was amazing, and they did an excellent job pivoting and staying flexible.

Recertification rebuilt as 13 self-paced modules with CCTV inspection simulations. Its board then approved a self-paced initial certification, the first outside a classroom since 2002.
Each worker's training record from SmarterU: completions, quiz results, attendance and certification dates, plus the audit log. Reports export to CSV or go by email on a schedule, and every certificate carries a QR code anyone can scan to validate it.
Will we know before someone's certification lapses?
Yes. SmarterU tracks each certification to its expiry date and re-enrolls the worker before it lapses. Reminders go out before the due date and can escalate to their supervisor.
Can crews train on their phones?
Yes. SmarterU has iOS and Android apps, and OttoLearn's refresher sessions take a minute or two on a phone at the start of a shift.
How much of our veterans' time does it take?
About 60 to 90 minutes per recorded session, and your expert doesn't need to prepare anything. We handle everything after the session.
Who owns what you capture?
You do. The recordings, transcripts and recommendations are yours, with no licensing conditions.
Do we have to replace the LMS we already use?
No. We deliver custom courses into the LMS you use, as SCORM, xAPI or cmi5, and you keep the source files. OttoLearn works on its own, alongside your LMS. JoySuite, which answers your crews' questions, also works alongside your LMS or on its own.
What does it cost?
Custom safety courses are quoted per engagement, and our Custom eLearning Express service builds a course of up to an hour at a fixed price. SmarterU plans start at $3,000 USD per year, quoted for your organization.
