What is a matching question?

The objective of matching questions is to pair predetermined responses on one side with their correct matches displayed in the opposite column. Matching questions typically consist of two columns.

Matching: Interactivity Level 1

Can assess learner comprehension and recall and has the advantage of covering a large amount of content, quickly
Reduces the learner's ability to easily guess the answer (for example, when a learner has a 50/50 chance of choosing the correct response from a true or false question)

Example: In a WHMIS course, images of safety symbols in a column on the left can be matched with their meanings written in text in a column on the right.
